Donna’s Arty Party is the online gallery and store of Donna Johnston, a retired art teacher. Donna has been active in the art world for the past 32 years, owning two art galleries and creating pieces of her own. She currently runs her own media studio at home. Utilizing her clay work, paintings and notecard productions, she incorporates various Printmaking techniques in each media.
The name Arty Party originates from a party that Donna had offered yearly. She opened her home for three or four days every October, where she and her friends offered their original creations as gift considerations. The Arty Party grew over the years, and several hundred people have attended this mini art fair, which was contributed to by several CREATIVE vendors. The Arty Party celebrated its tenth and last offering a couple years ago. So now the Studios are OPEN during the Spring and Summer Months where Donna shows her own work, and an occasional visit from one of her artist friends.
This website is also designed to feature some of Donna’s art productions. She has also opened an Etsy shop, donnasartyparty@etsy.com featuring her one of a kind and limited edition original art. Also on Etsy is the shop SORORITYJEWELRY, showing the National Sorority Designs that have been designed over the past several years. The designs now include key chains and t-shirts which may be viewed on the new site www.sororityjewelryplus.com.

A new experiment in writing a book based on her teaching of painting for Children over many years of experience was completed. Teaching demonstration classes for a local teacher friend in her classrooms afforded the great pictures taken by that friend that were used in the book. “NOW THIS IS ART!” is available through Horizon Books in Traverse City, from Donna’s studio, and from the website www.Nowthisisart.com that Xlibris the publisher designed for her. This book is for not only for art teachers, but all classroom teachers, parents of children who are being home schooled, and even grand parents who like to work with their “Grands” on creative projects.
